Overview
The Global Redirect by Order Subtotal feature allows store owners to create targeted post-checkout experiences based on the order value. This functionality enables you to:
- Redirect customers based on their spending amount
- Create special thank you pages for high-value orders
- Set up different experiences for orders with zero price (free products)
- Customize the post-purchase journey based on order thresholds
How to Set Up Order Subtotal-Based Redirects
1. Accessing the Order Subtotal Settings
- Navigate to WooCommerce > WRAC Redirect
- Go to the Global Redirects tab
- Click on the Order Subtotal option in the left sidebar menu
2. Enabling Order Subtotal Redirects
- Find the “Enable or Disable” toggle
- Turn it On to activate order subtotal-based redirects
- This enables the “Turn On to create redirect based on selected order subtotal” feature
3. Configuring Order Amount Logic

Step 1: Set the Amount
- In the “Add the Amount(0-Free)” field:
- Enter a numeric value (e.g., “100”, “50.00”, “0”)
- Use “0” for free orders/products
Step 2: Choose Logic Operator
- From the “Select Logic Option” drop-down, choose one of:
- Greater Than: Redirects when order subtotal exceeds the specified amount
- Less Than: Redirects when order subtotal is below the specified amount
- Equal to Amount Set: Redirects when order subtotal matches the exact amount
4. Setting the Redirect Destination
Choose where customers will be redirected based on the order subtotal conditions:
Internal Page Redirect
- From the “Select Redirect Page” drop-down:
- Choose an existing page (e.g., “/premium-thank-you”, “/free-download”)
- This page will display when the order subtotal meets your specified conditions
External URL Redirect
- In the “Use External URL” field:
- Enter a full URL (e.g., “https://example.com/vip-customers“)
- Use external URL to redirect customers after successful purchase
5. Failed Order Handling
Configure where customers go if payment fails:
- “Failed Order Redirect Page” – Select an internal page from the drop-down
- “Failed Order External URL” – Enter an external URL for failed orders
6. Save Your Configuration
- Click the Save Settings button at the bottom of the page
- Your order subtotal redirect rules are now active
How It Works
When a customer completes checkout:
- The plugin checks if their order subtotal meets the condition you specified
- If the condition is met, they are redirected to your custom thank you page or external URL
- If the condition isn’t met, they follow the standard checkout completion flow
- If the order fails, they are directed to your specified failed order page
Practical Examples
- VIP Customer Experience
- Amount: “200”
- Logic: “Greater Than”
- Redirect to: “/vip-thank-you” with exclusive offers for high-value customers
- Free Product Download Page
- Amount: “0”
- Logic: “Equal to Amount Set”
- Redirect to: “/download-your-free-product” with download instructions and upsells
- Special Offers for Small Orders
- Amount: “25”
- Logic: “Less Than”
- Redirect to: A page with special bundle deals to encourage larger future purchases
Advanced Use Cases
Zero Price / Free Products Handling
This feature is particularly useful for handling free products:
- Set Amount to “0” and Logic to “Equal to Amount Set”
- Redirect customers to a download page, instructions page, or onboarding materials
- Perfect for digital products, lead magnets, or promotional items
Gift Product Handling
For orders that include gift products:
- You can create specialized thank you pages with gift-specific instructions
- Consider adding gift wrapping instructions or personalization options
Tiered Thank You Pages
Create multiple Order Subtotal redirect rules to implement tiered experiences:
- Under $50: Basic thank you page
- $50-$200: Silver tier thank you with special offers
- Over $200: Gold tier thank you with VIP benefits
Troubleshooting
- If redirects aren’t working, ensure the toggle is set to “On”
- Verify that the amount is entered correctly (no currency symbols)
- Check that your selected redirect page exists
- For external URLs, ensure they include “https://” prefix
- Remember that the order subtotal must meet the exact condition you specified
